Molly Vandermeer is a Multi-Award Winning Director, Writer and Producer who brings engaging stories to life that create empathy, spark conversations and serve diverse and underrepresented audiences.
Her narrative work is centred around intense, emotional conflicts that use unique and stunning visuals to entertain and challenge. Molly’s Documentaries have a social activism focus and her theatre work explores how even the most confined spaces can hold an expansive range of memories, emotions and surprises. She also uses Theatre as a medium to challenge audiences to step into the shoes of the characters. Molly believes that the characters in our stories are the best vehicles for empathy we have and can be used to alter perspectives.
After completing an English Literature and History of Art degree, Molly gained experience in Development, having undertaken an Internship at the Ink Factory and subsequently spent 6 months working for world-renowned Director Michael Winterbottom.
Molly also works as an Assistant Director across Film and TV and worked as Social Media Manager for Shiny Awards. Molly previously founded the Production Company ‘Molly Vandermeer Productions’ (which Produced Drama ‘Twelve’ and multiple Documentaries) her Production company has now become ‘On the Lake Productions’. OTLP currently has multiple projects on its slate in development.
